Woman Being Discriminated Against Text Pledge

It’s never okay to make someone feel bad about themselves. Everyone deserves kindness and respect. That’s why we want you to join our efforts to end discrimination in the United States and worldwide. As a nonprofit in Greater Grand Rapids, MI, Text Pledge is dedicated to making sure everyone feels safe, heard, and welcome.

We are all made equal. Pledge to be an individual that doesn’t discriminate.

Let’s End Discrimination Together

We all view the world through lenses determined by our race, gender, sexual orientation, and other factors that are unique to our human experience. For this reason, we need to remember to exercise compassion and empathy when listening to the stories of others and to trust that other people are the experts of their own experiences.

Not everyone experiences discrimination on a personal level, but that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist. If you’re coming from a place of privilege, the best thing you can do is create a safe space for other people to share their stories on their own terms and ask how you can help. We can only move forward when everyone is welcome and present at the table.
