Let’s dive into some tips on how you can take the lead and make a positive impact.
Get Informed, Stay Empowered
Knowledge is key, my friends! Educate yourself about the
. Learn about impaired judgment, slower reaction times, and the potential for accidents. The more you know, the better equipped you’ll be to make responsible choices.Share what you learn with your friends, whether it’s through conversations, social media posts, or even organizing fun info sessions. Empower yourselves and those around you with the facts.
Be the Cool Friend Who Promotes Responsibility
A lot of teens worry that speaking out against underage drinking and driving under the influence will hurt their reputation. They don’t want to be seen as “uncool.” However, do you want to know what’s not cool? Being arrested. Or worse, getting injured or killed while putting other people in harm’s way.
You have the power to influence your friends and create positive change. Encourage responsible behavior when it comes to alcohol. Be the cool friend who cares enough to speak up when they know something isn’t right.
You’re Stronger Than Peer Pressure
Peer pressure can be tough, but you’re tougher! Don’t let it sway you into making poor decisions. Stand up against negative influences and resist the temptation to drink while underage.
Be proud of your choices and be an example for others. Surround yourself with friends who support your responsible decisions and encourage them to do the same.
Team Up for Change
You’re not alone in this mission. Join forces with local organizations like Text Pledge, as well as student-led groups and community initiatives focused on road safety. Team up with law enforcement agencies, community leaders, and fellow teens who are passionate about creating safer roads.

, and be advocates for change. Your collective voices will be heard loud and clear!Introducing Text Pledge to your school is a great place to start. Take our 10 pledges and encourage your school to register with Text Pledge to start a fundraiser.
